2010年11月4日，新加坡哥伦比亚商学院谢校长和深圳办事处李惠华主任来华商举办新加坡项目讲座。讲座主要围绕两个项目展开：一是英语专业或相关专业本科毕业生或应届本科毕业生赴新加坡实习一年；二是旅游管理、酒店管理或相关专业大专应届毕业生赴新加坡就业两年。
讲座在励志楼D408举行。参加讲座的同学大多来自旅游管理、酒店管理、英语、会计等专业。李主任通过PPT向同学们介绍新加坡，如鱼尾狮、滨海湾艺术中心等各具特色的新加坡著名建筑以及新加坡国立大学、南洋理工大学等新加坡著名的国立大学。同学们通过李主任的述说了解到新加坡的人民热情友善、社会安定和谐。

在讲座的问答环节中，同学们就新加坡的就业环境、移民政策、社会环境等方面进行了提问，其中部分同学有移民新加坡或赴新加坡就业的意向，谢校长针对同学们的提问进行了详细的回答，其幽默风趣的讲解受到了同学们的欢迎。
Columbia Business School (CBS) Gives a Lecture in Hua Shang College
On 4th, Nov, 2010, Mr Xie, headmaster of CBS and Ms Li, director of the office in Shenzhen gave a lecture in Hua Shang College. This lecture was mainly about the following two projects: One is about one-year internship in Singapore for the graduate or this year’s graduate with Bachelor’s degree majoring in English or relevant; the other is about two-year employment in Singapore for this year’s graduate with Associate degree majoring in tourism or hotel management, or relevant.
The lecture was given in D408, Lizhi building of our college. Most of the students majoring in Tourism, Hotel management, English and Accounting attended to this lecture. Director Li introduced Singapore via PPT and showed them the characteristic buildings like the Merlion and Marina Bay art center and some national universities, such as National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. Warm and friendly people, stable and harmonious social environment were known by her explanations.
During the question and answer session of this lecture, students consulted about the employment opportunity, immigration policy, social environment and the like. In addition, Mr Xie also gave detailed explanations for the questions promoted by the students who had the plan to immigrate to Singapore or worked in Singapore. Meanwhile, His humorous style was received warm response from students.
